A website, ecommerce site, or storefront may define the success of your products and services on the internet.  It is therefore necessary that you find a provider for the development of your site that will help you succeed.

In here, I will give you some of the useful tips in finding a provider for the development of your successful ecommerce site.

Before you do however, you will need to prepare.  Know what you need like templates, links, catalog, newsletter, affiliate program, mailing list contents and payment processes.

Browse the internet.  Look for ecommerce sites that sells products similar to yours or products that compliment your own products.  The insight you will get will help you design your ecommerce website and therefore be able to find the provider that will help develop your site.

It may also help if you can contact people from ecommerce websites themselves.  If you have questions you want answered, you may look for forums that will clear some things in your mind.

Additionally, if you find an ecommerce site that you think is very good, you may contact the webmaster or the website owner and ask for recommendations.  Some people would be glad to assist you, some may ignore you outright but do not despair.  The World Wide Web is a treasure throb of information, you will be able to learn all the tricks you just give it time.

Finally, look for an ecommerce service provider that will both design and host your site.  If you have a designed template, it may be hard for you to find a hosting website for that.  If the ecommerce service provider both host and design your site, they may have all the services that you need.

Again, you need to refer to the plan you have designed based on your research.  Your quest in finding a provider for the development of your site armed with the plan will put you at an advantage.

Your ecommerce site is your storefront.  What goes in the website should lead to make sales for your products.  This is your foremost goal.  You hire providers for your ecommerce site to help you succeed; do not waste your money to unprofessional and limited service providers.

To end, please note that your website is your store, if people do not know your store exist buyers will not find you.  To succeed in the ecommerce era, you need to invite people to your ecommerce site, do this buy submitting articles to articles directories.  You may also link to other websites to invite their subscribers to yours.

Marketing plan for your website

February 10th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in eCommerce News

Do you know what a blueprint is?  A blueprint is a design.  Architectures create blueprints for your house before they lay the first stone for it.  Blueprints are like maps.  You use blueprints to visualize the finish product, like your house.  You use maps to know where you are going.  Blueprints, maps, and marketing plans have the same purpose.  To plan the direction you need to take.

For an ecommerce entrepreneur, you will need a marketing plan for your website.  In another example, have you seen the blueprint for your store?  Remember that your website is your store and therefore you need to plan what is going to happen to your store or storefront.

Now, let us move on to the marketing plan for your business, what are the things you need?

Things you need for the marketing plan of your website

•    Know what you want to do with your website.  Do not answer it by sell products, because this is very vague and you can do it offline in a limited manner.  Some things business owners put here is –
o    Service existing clients
o    Find new clients
o    Sell products to international clients
o    Provide support to staff and customers
•    Research your market or niche.  Know where the industry you are in is going.  Think of how you can fit your business to fill gaps in the industry that you are in.  You will need to offer something to the industry that others including your competitor do not offer.
•    Know your customers and how you can best serve them.  Know their profiles to learn their wants and needs, including the price range of products they purchase.
•    Know your competitor, how they position their products, what are the pricing for their products, where do they find clients and what gaps you can fill that your competitor do not have.
•    Know your USP or unique selling proposition.  How is your product different from others in the market, does it have a different technological makeup, pricing, customer service or find whatever is unique in your product.  You may also try to look at other angles on how you will position your product or service.
•    Do you offer promotions and what promotions you can do to ensure you meet the goal that you want to do with your website.
•    You may also think of how much you are willing to spend for your website design and hosting.

There are other considerations you may think of but the above list may give you a better picture of where you want to go.  This is your marketing plan, but you can change it in a manner that will fit your business.

Again, your research of competitor websites and other websites will help you understand what benefits your website will have in the World Wide Web.
